Hi! My name is Emma and I have been conducting wedding and naming ceremonies for 10 years and am still loving it!
I live in South East London with my husband and one-eyed wonder cat Frank! After twelve fantastic years working as long-haul cabin crew for British Airways, I decided a change of career was necessary (time to get more sleep!) and I found myself working as a registrar for a high profile London register office. I quickly came to realise that I love performing ceremonies and playing an important part in somebody’s special day.
After a few years, I decided the time was right to become an independent celebrant, while still drawing on all of the experience I have gained. I have taken the positive elements of being a registrar, such as understanding the mechanics and choreography of a ceremony, the delivery and command of an audience, and managing the event from start to finish, and combined them with the unique, personalised ceremony constructed with you in mind.
Over the years I have officiated ceremonies in venues as varied as boats and zoos, to gardens and converted churches. I have been part of Indian, African and Persian ceremonies and incorporated Jewish traditions into secular weddings. I have worked with translators and plenty of children and animals, as well as appearing on a few wedding tv shows!
I am a very proud advocate of same-sex marriage, having helped marry several happy couples on the very first day it was legalised in England and Wales. It was a brilliant and emotional experience for all and one I will always remember.
I am based in London, but very happy to receive enquiries for ceremonies throughout the UK and overseas.
I look forward to meeting you and helping create your perfect ceremony.
Happy ceremony planning!
