It was only when my family and I had to arrange a funeral for my father several years ago that I became aware of the work of funeral celebrants and the idea that a funeral does not need to be restricted to a traditional religious service but can be tailored to be a truly personal and memorable service to remember the life of the person who has died. Over the years I have had to arrange other family funerals and have found great comfort in choosing music and words that really reflect the life of a dear family member.
Having recently retired after a career in HR and school administration I wanted a complete change of direction in my work life and felt that my experience of arranging family funerals could help those who have been bereaved create a special and meaningful service for their loved one. The first time you have to arrange a funeral can be a very confusing, and sometimes daunting, experience and so the support of a good celebrant can help tremendously at a difficult time.
I live in Cheam, Surrey with my husband and my new puppy, Milo!
